Call for Sponsors for 3rd One Health Youth Symposium in Bangladesh (OHYSB) 2026
27 June 2026
The One Health Youth Symposium in Bangladesh (OHYSB) is a pioneering, youth-led initiative of the One Health Youth Alliance Bangladesh (OHYAB), designed to introduce, strengthen, and institutionalize the One Health approach among undergraduate students and young professionals across the country. Since its inception, the symposium has grown into one of Bangladesh's most ambitious student-led platforms for advancing collaboration between human, animal, plant, and environmental health.
The journey began in 2023, when the inaugural symposium, organized in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Youth Institute (FAYI) of IAAS and financially supported by IAAS, brought together around 200 undergraduate students through expert sessions and collaborative learning on zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, climate change, and public health. The momentum continued with the 2nd NOHYSB in 2025, jointly organized by IVSA Khulna Agricultural University and IVSA Patuakhali Science and Technology University, and supported by over 20 national and international institutions. That edition drew more than 160 selected delegates from over 10 universities and 13 academic disciplines, marking the first time a student-led initiative in Bangladesh achieved such a wide, cross-disciplinary reach.
Now, OHYAB and the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) are proud to host the 3rd NOHYSB on 25th July 2026, at the AIUB Auditorium (G Building), Dhaka. Under the theme "Farm to the Future," this year's symposium moves beyond awareness-building and steps directly into the field. By placing farmer-centric youth engagement at its core, the event creates a collaborative platform where livestock producers can share their lived experiences and operational challenges, while targeted workshops ensure that AMR mitigation strategies remain grounded in practical, real-world agricultural realities. Through this action-oriented approach, OHYAB aims to transform youth passion into an institutionalized force for national and global health security.
Objectives
✓Empower the One Health concept among undergraduate students and young professionals from diverse backgrounds.
✓Enhance youth capacity in research, leadership, advocacy, and community engagement within the One Health framework.
✓Increase awareness and practical knowledge of zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, climate change, and environmental health.
✓Prepare youth as future One Health champions capable of translating knowledge into sustainable action at the community and national levels.
✓Connect youth with local communities to carry out field-based actions supporting the One Health mission and vision.
Participants and Expected Impact
NOHYSB 2026 will welcome 250 participants in total, comprising 200 delegates and 50 guests and organizers, drawn from veterinary, medical, public health, nursing, environmental science, and agricultural backgrounds, alongside young researchers, youth leaders, farmers, and community representatives. Through scientific sessions, an AMR-focused farmers' engagement workshop, a rapid-fire case competition, a national policy pitch battle, and scientific paper presentations, participants will build a comprehensive interdisciplinary understanding of One Health principles. Beyond individual learning, the symposium will help solidify a national network of youth leaders, generate actionable, youth-led policy recommendations, and strengthen the practical capacity of local farming communities to mitigate AMR and zoonotic health risks — bridging the gap between academic theory and grassroots application.
