Abu Sayed is an Erasmus Mundus Scholar and Joint Master’s student in Leading International Vaccinology Education (LIVE), with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and a background in infectious-disease epidemiology, animal and public health, and One Health. His current training integrates vaccinology, immunology, infectiology, molecular biology, vaccine policy, public health, and data analysis.
His research interests lie in preclinical viral vaccine development, particularly the rational design and engineering of vaccine constructs and the experimental evaluation of vaccine candidates. He is interested in applying these principles across diverse and adaptable vaccine-platform technologies to develop vaccines against emerging, re-emerging, and other viral pathogens of human and animal health importance. His earlier work on disease burden, transmission, and prevention gaps motivated me to move beyond characterizing infectious-disease threats toward developing direct preventive interventions.
His long-term goal is to build a career in translational vaccinology and contribute to the development of effective and adaptable vaccines. Ultimately, he aspires to establish a One Health Vaccine Hub in Bangladesh that integrates vaccine research, scientific training, capacity building, and preparedness for emerging infectious-disease threats.
