The One Health Youth Alliance Bangladesh (OHYAB), in collaboration with the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), is excited to share a first look at the preparations for the 3rd National One Health Youth Symposium in Bangladesh (NOHYSB).
Building on the incredible momentum of our past events, our upcoming symposium is shifting from academic discussion to direct grassroots impact. Moving forward under the tentative theme "Farm to the Future," this edition will place a special focus on farmer-centric youth engagement and practical field realities.

Workshop Overview
The Youth Consultation Workshop on AMR Country Statement in Bangladesh will be the first event of its kind in Bangladesh, focusing on the growing threat of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). AMR is a global health crisis, and while it has gained significant attention worldwide, its impact in Bangladesh requires urgent action. This workshop will engage youth from various sectors—healthcare, veterinary sciences, environmental sciences, and policy-making—to raise awareness about AMR, understand its current status in Bangladesh, and identify actions that youth can take to combat AMR at local and national levels.
The idea of organizing this event emerged following the success of two landmark events in Bangladesh: the 1st One Health Youth Symposium in Bangladesh (OHYSB 2023) and the 2nd OHYSB 2025, organized by Food and Agriculture Youth Institute of the International Association of Students in Agriculture and Related Sciences (IAAS), and International Veterinary Student Association (IVSA) PSTU & KAU Bangladesh, respectively. These events were instrumental in introducing, strengthening, and institutionalizing the One Health approach among youth in Bangladesh. The OHYSB 2023 engaged over 200 undergraduate students from various disciplines and addressed critical issues such as zoonotic diseases, AMR, climate change, and public health. Building on this foundation, the 2nd OHYSB 2025 expanded the reach to 160+ delegates from over 10 universities, empowering youth from diverse fields like veterinary science, environmental studies, agriculture, and more, to work collaboratively on health challenges.
Following the transformative success of these events, the Youth Consultation Workshop on AMR aims to transition from awareness to action. The workshop will serve as a collaborative platform where youth from various sectors will come together to draft a joint youth AMR statement. This statement will advocate for key solutions to combat AMR and highlight youth-driven solutions to the crisis, providing recommendations that will be shared with global stakeholders and policymakers.
The workshop is not just a continuation of the previous events, but a strategic shift toward empowering youth to directly engage in AMR prevention efforts. Through the momentum gained from OHYSB, this event will take the youth-led One Health and AMR movement to the next level, emphasizing the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration and sustainable solutions in the fight against AMR.

Raise awareness about AMR among the youth of Bangladesh.
Discuss the current status of AMR in Bangladesh and its future implications.
Promote youth involvement in AMR-related initiatives, from awareness campaigns to policy advocacy.
Draft a joint youth AMR statement, which will be shared both nationally and globally for advocacy purposes.
Build networks among youth from different sectors working on AMR to foster collaboration and long-term action.

মানুষ এবং প্রাণিসম্পদ—উভয় ক্ষেত্রেই অ্যান্টিবায়োটিকের যথেচ্ছ ব্যবহার আজ এক বৈশ্বিক জনস্বাস্থ্য হুমকি। এই সংকট মোকাবিলা এবং One Health Approach আরও শক্তিশালী করার লক্ষ্যে Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)-এর মূল আয়োজনে এবং One Health Youth Alliance Bangladesh (OHYAB), Bangladesh Medical Students' Society (BMSS) এবং Bangladesh Antimicrobial Resistance Alliance (BARA)-এর যৌথ সহযোগিতায় একটি বিশেষ দিনব্যাপী কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করা হয়েছে।
